You can never be too young to start learning the principles of entrepreneurship. That’s certainly what parent Cameron Reilly thinks. When one of his twin boys, Taylor, fell in love with an iMac computer he also realised how long it would take to save up his $7-a-week pocket money to buy one. To accelerate the process, Taylor thought he would be able to raise more money starting a business. His brother, Hunter, was also excited about the prospect.

That was about a month ago. Since then, Kids Candle Company – a business making and selling beeswax candles – has taken shape. Their Dad has helped them create a business plan. “I just outlined the structure and left all the bits blank for them to research themselves,” says Reilly. “They had to do market research on the price of candles and where they can sell them.”

This month marks 61 years of being free. Over these years we as a country have attained a new sense of freedom. We have moved on from fearing computerization to welcoming it with open arms.

Today, it’s most evident in the ‘e’ initiatives that the Indian government – one of the late up takers of technology – is taking to improve its functional and operational efficiency. The government has realised over the past few years – seeing the corporate world- that IT is one such tool that will benefit not just the people of the country but also increase transparency within its operations.

E-governance has become a key word for the Government, which means the various offices, and ministries are ready to invest in procuring It products and solutions that will help them function better. This in reality translates into big business opportunity for the channel partners across the country.

Calling all designers, developers, information architects, project managers, writers, editors, marketers, and everyone else who makes websites. It is time once again to pool our information so as to begin sketching a true picture of the way our profession is practiced worldwide.

Possibly the most important invention of the past century, the web is undeniably one of the most robust engines of knowledge transfer, political and social change, artistic endeavor, and economic growth the world has seen.

Remove the web, and billions in trade disappear. Websites enable people who can’t walk to run to the store. They bring knowledge and freedom of thought to places where such things are scarce; make every person with a connection a citizen of the world; and allow every citizen to be heard.
